U.S Open last day.

Worth a note. Tiger Woods has been postitioned 1st after three rounds 13 times before in major championship. Theese are the 13 majors Tiger Woods has won.
Today Tiger Woods starts of is 4th round at that position, he is number 1 for the 14th time. Will he win his 14th major championship?
You can’t win them all they say?
And if he doesn’t win it, who will be the first player ever catching Tiger and defeating him from behind? Will be a historical moment if that happens.

At the moment Tiger is 3 over par after 2 holes and trailing by 2 shots to Rocco Mediate who made a good start. Lee Westwood bogeyed the first trailing by 1. Robert Karlsson 1 under after 4 still in with a good chance, trailing by only 3 shots! Boy this is gonna be a thriller!

Thriller was just the first name of it, oh boy! I’v never seen anything like it!
Tiger Woods had to make a birdie at the 18th to force an 18 hole playoff at monday. And he did, and the way he did it!!

Gonna make a quick review for myself and all of you who might be interested tomorrow!
Right now I need some sleep, 3.06 am here right now :)

By the way, Last day turned out to be wrong, 18 hole playoff monday, U.S Open is the only venue this happens, and last time it happened was in 2001 when Retief Goosen won the Open.

In i ugnen, ca 225 grader i ca 15 minuter. Klart, smaklig måltid! Serverar personligen oftast med pommes frites.

Givetvis en kanelbulle till efterrätt :)

Indeed!

What can you say, it was a magical day at Torrey Pines. For me it was a magical night with 9 hours of time difference.
But it didn’t matter to me, I had made up my mind, I was going to watch till the end of the third round and I did! I didn’t fall a sleep, how can you in all that excitement?

The day started off everyone losing shots, might it have been some U.S Open nerves?
The world number 1 Tiger Woods started of with a double bogey playing kind of rocky front 9, but world number 1 as he is, he sorts out his game and with a few miracle shots and puts he suddenly finds him self back smelling the lead.
Rocco Mediate, solid AS a rock makes a lot of pars and 1 or 2 birdies looking to finish up better than he started his round, but also Mediate could make mistakes on the moving day, unfortunately forhim he made them late in the round with no chance for miraculous recoveries.

My man Robert Karlsson also had a rough start, bogey at the first, par second. But at the third par 3 195 yards, pin place short on green with need to carry the ball over the bunker in front of the green. Robert does just that, hits a perfect lengthened shot just over the green, but the ball lands in the down slope from the bunker and kicks off with no spin left in the ball. The ball has no plan of stopping, it rolls down the ravine, double bogey 5, front 9 holes on 41 strokes 6 over par. But he didn’t give up he played the back 9, 2 under par and got himself back in the championship trailing by 5 shots.

The man of the day though I have to say is Lee Westwood, the Englishman. Really solid play all through the round, if it hadn’t been for Tigers second miracle putt of the day he would have been the joined leader starting Sunday.
Exiting to see what Lee can do, if anyone can match Tiger at his “home course” and at his favourite position it is Lee.

Do you remember? The players championship at Tpc Sawgrass 17thhole, the long putt referred to as “better than most” well he did it again on Torrey Pines, TWICE in round three. On the 9the hits his second shot to the back of the green, and with risking to putt the ball off the green and a good 50 yards  down the slope, he takes the stance with confidence, strikes the ball and what do you know, “better than most” appeared again wow what a putt :)
And again on the 18th green, Tiger gets the ball up on 2 despite of his pain in the left knee, closer to the hole than on the 9th but not an easier putt, and boom dead center of the hole again! Eagle and outright lead for Tiger Woods, who now finds himself in the position from where he has won all his major titles, pole position :D
I might add also that Robert Karlsson putted before Tiger at the 18th, from the back of the green, his ball ended up 1 quarter of a roll to short, easy birdie or what.

In my opinion there are only 2 players able to steal this title from the world number 1 and that is the Englishman Lee Westwood and the Aussie Geoff Ogilvy, who also played real solid golf on Saturday.
Already looking forward to tonight.
Will Tigers kne hold? Will Lee Westwood keep his momentum going? Will Geoff Ogilvy challenge Tiger again? Or will someone else make a run for it?
Join in on the action tonight, I most certainly will :D
